I am really starting to get into my routine!  As I write this message, 
it is the exact day that Dr.  David Feldman says I can start walking 
 my walker!  Sadly, I can't get in my pool yet.  I 
am really looking forward to swimming!  
All of the people who have come to cheer me up have 
done an excellent job.  Thank you!  
I also would like everyone to know that I will be entering a 
vocabulary competition this weekend.  Wish me luck!  
To all my friends, I would like to say that soon I will be getting 
The Incredibles "Rise of the Underminer" video game.  I am open 
to playdates.  Email my parents or call my house for playdates!

We are back home!  I have settled back into my routine and am having a 
great time seeing friends.

Update - Thursday, March 2, 2006
 
My surgery has been postponed.  My sister and I had strep throat this week. 
We are feeling much better!  I'll have my surgery next Friday, March 10.
 
 
Update - Friday, Dec. 9
 
A new page has been added to my website!  My new travel page will tell
everyone where I'm traveling to and when.  Check it often as new updates
will be given regularly to this page.
 
Update - Thursday Dec 1
 
Yishai is now taking orders for Challah.  Click on the link above to place
your order.  All proceeds will benefit the ARC.
 
Also, Yishai is preparing to undergo surgery in March.  Updates will be
given as it nears that time.
 
Update - Friday Feb 11
 
Yishai is now happily at home in Austin. He was thrilled by the ambulance
rides to and from the aiports. Many thanks to our friends in New York who
showered Yishai with care, and also many thanks to our friends in Austin
who are making the time pass more easily and happily for him. 

Update - Monday Feb 7

We have some exciting news! Yishai is doing very well, and the doctor is
ecstatic with his progress.  So much, that Yishai and family will be going
back to Austin THIS Wednesday (2/9 - a week earlier than anticipated)!  
Yishai is able to get out of his bed, is eating sushi, and is in great spirits. 
Thank you for all the kind messages you have sent.  We will continue
to update you with his progress and recouperation.

Update - Friday Feb 4

As of 3:30pm EST,  Yishai continues to do well. He is still in bed recouperating. 
He is glad to hear from you all, so please continue to send messages. As shown

3rd Post-Surgery Update - Thursday Feb 3

As of 2:55pm EST, they have moved Yishai out of intensive care into his regular 
room, which is number 823. The hospital messed up and unfortunately 'returned 
to sender' all the mail sent to him last week. Please send it back to Yishai. 
He appreciates all the fond messages. He is in good spirits. Morphine and pure 
oxygen helps.

2nd Post-Surgery Update - Wednesday Feb 2

As of 6pm EST, Yishai is out of the recovery room, and in a "Special Care Unit"
on the 11th floor.  Visiting hours are: 11:30am - 12:30pm, 1:30 - 2:30, and 
5:30 - 6:30pm. Yishai's clergy friends can visit anytime.

Post-Surgery Update - Wednesday Feb 2

As of 3pm EST, Yishai is awake, and in the recovery room. According to the surgeon,
his vital signs are very good and he is doing very well. Yishai was awestruck and 
happy with the very powerful Yu Gi Oh cards that awaited him in the room. We will 
update more soon.

Update - Wednesday Feb 2

I’m very worried but I’m trying to be brave.  I hope that I can return home without 
delay because I miss everybody.  I’m fine here because I am surrounded by my old 
friends.  I have gotten all your emails and appreciate that you are thinking about me.  
I will give another update as soon as I am conscious.  I am very scared, however the 
hospital was nice enough to give me a bear to hold so I feel better.

Update - Wednesday Jan 26

Yishai's surgery was postponed as he has sneezles & wheezles (ref A. A. Milne).
Yesterday at 6 PM he saw the surgeon and was fine. After dinner he coughed twice.
At the hospital today the medical team regretfully cancelled - the risks of prolonged
anesthesia are too great.  Surgery is (tentatively) rescheduled for next Wednesday
morning.

Current plan is for Karen & kids & au pair to hang in there in NY nd Sami
will head back to Austin Thursday - Tuesday.

Update - Tuesday Jan 25
 
A message from Yishai:  
I am doing fine.  The doctor said that I would be not able to sit up completely
after the surgery.  I do not like it.  Unfortunately I came down with strep throat on 
Saturday night and the doctor is not sure if the surgery will need to be postponed.   
However, I would not like that to happen.  I will give another update tommorrow.

Welcome to this site.  Many of you know that Yishai will be having hip surgery. 
The operation will be on Wednesday January 26th at the Hospital for Joint Diseases
in New York - the surgeon whom we admire very much is Dr David Feldman.  We will
post updates on his progress as we can.  Yishai would love to receive cards or e-mails.
